About
A digital witness stand for Australia, since October 2023.
Living Archive is a public testimony project documenting the experiences of Australians from all backgrounds since October 2023 — what changed, what was lost, and what people witnessed. Hate crimes, social division, and institutional failure have accelerated. This site is a place to record those experiences directly, in the words of the people who lived them.
With the Royal Commission into Antisemitism and Social Cohesion currently underway, Living Archive serves a specific purpose: to ensure that voices which may not be heard through formal processes are preserved and made public.
We are not a submission portal for the Commission. We are not an advocacy campaign. We are a permanent people's record — open to anyone with a story to tell, regardless of background, affiliation, or whether any institution ever asked them. Living Archive was founded in November 2025 by the Australian Cohesion Forum.
How it works
- Anyone in Australia can submit a testimony in writing or on video.
- The teller chooses what is published, and what is withheld.
- Each entry is reviewed for clarity and consent before it goes live.
- Identifying details are redacted on request.
What we don't do
- We don't edit testimonies for political tone.
- We don't share contributor information without consent.
- We don't take government or party funding.
- We don't represent any institution or community body.
"The historian's first duty is to the witness."
A guiding principle of this archive.
